DLT Solutions And NCI To Provide Network Computer Technology To Commercial Markets And The U.S. Federal Government

At Oracle Open World, DLT Solutions, Inc. the largest Value Added Reseller of Oracle based technology to the US Federal Government, announced plans to work with NCI, an Oracle affiliate to resell NCI's NC Server software to the federal government via their GSA Group 70 B/C Schedule Contract. DLT will offer a complete hardware and software solution called "NC Network in the Box" providing a cost effective and low administration solution for small workgroups, departmental and enterprise organizations.

DLT Solutions is NCI's first Government VAR to bundle NCI's network computer software and the necessary hardware to create an easy to install and manage network. The "NC Network in the Box" requires a minimal amount of set up and installation. It consists of:

- One NEC Intel Pentium based NC Server appliance which includes all software including the NC Software Suite for managing network computers, applications such as electronic mail and productivity software, and NC Desktop, the software for the network computer

- Two network computer devices based on the Intel microprocessor from Funai

- Two NC Cards, manufactured by Schlumberger, a credit-card sized smart card that allows the user to privately access network-based information and services such as electronic mail, Internet applications, and electronic commerce; One administrator NC Card will also be included for smart card administration.

- Network hardware including a 5-port hub and all cabling

- Additional network computers are available from DLT

"Our relationship with NCI and FUNAI enables us to deliver a complete software and hardware turnkey solution to our government customers who are demanding an economical, easy-to-use computing environment," said Ned Miller, vice president of DLT Solutions.

"The NC Network in the Box is a great way for government offices and workgroups in corporations to rapidly deploy their own network computer system," said Bonnie Crater, vice president of strategic marketing at NCI. "In less than an hour a complete network can be deployed to run productivity and Web-enabled applications, email and accessing information from the Web."

DLT will also resell NCI's NC Administration Server software for commercial and government customers that want to leverage their existing server platforms to deploy network computers.

"NC Network in the Box" is available today for $4295. NC Administration Server is available today on Sun Solaris and Digital UNIX starting at $975.
