Leading Companies To Launch Hottest Java-Based Innovations At First-Ever Java Internet Business Expo, Aug. 25-28 In New York City

Softbank Forums has announced that industry leaders as well as emerging start-ups are launching the hottest Java™ and Internet innovations during the first-ever Java Internet Business Expo(SM) at the Javits Convention Center in New York, August 25-28.

Sun Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SUNW) will outline its technology strategy for integrating software from its recent acquisition, Diba Inc. Sun Microsystems also plans to give attendees a glimpse into the future of Sun's emergence in the consumer electronics market. The strategy statement will be supported by numerous breaking announcements by Sun customers.

Breakthrough innovations expected at Java Internet Business Expo include the first thin client X server for Java; a web site and intranet search engine that has a 100% Pure Java Certification; a virtually transparent Java application for streamlining business processes; 100% Pure Java framework for creating sophisticated intelligent agents; the next generation NC (network computer) with ultra-thin clients; and much more.

"The incredible number and variety of Java-enhanced products that are being introduced at our event proves that the industry support for this revolutionary platform has reached a new level of momentum," said Melinda Kendall, vice president and general manager of Java Internet Business Expo. Art Technology Group, booth 1141: To exhibit the Dynamo Retail Station, which is the only Relationship Commerce™ solution available today for creating online storefronts and personalized consumer shopping experiences.

GraphOn Corporation, booth 1118: Demonstrating GO-Joe, the first thin-client X server for Java. Go-Joe provides plug & play access to UNIX and X Window applications from any Java-enabled device.

Software AG Americas, booth 1227: New release of iXpress represents a new generation of component assembly tools bridging the world of Java and ActiveX while extending the investment in existing applications and databases.

Sun Microsystems, booth 403: Sun will be announcing a new initiative in Java computing targeted at Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Known as the JavaEngine 1(TM), this reference platform is the first board-level product that supports the JavaOS™ operating system and is customizable for specific end-user needs. Sun will announce product details, as well as recent design wins from key customers.

Sybase Inc., booth 927: Presents Jaguar CTS™, PowerJ™, and jConnect™. WebLogic, Inc., booth 349/351: Introduces the first commercially viable implementation of JavaSoft's Remote Method Invocation (RMI) specification. RmiT3 provides scaleable, high-performance Java-to-Java distributed object computing.
