TheLinuxStore's New PIA Will Debut This Week Before Live National Television Audience

July 13, 1999

The new PIA™, a $199 personal Internet appliance introduced by The Linux Store, a subsidiary of EBIZ Enterprises Inc., (OTC BB: EBIZ), will be unveiled and demonstrated for the first time before a live national network television audience on Good Morning America, Thursday, July 15, 1999.

The Good Morning America segment, hosted by technology reporter Gina P. Smith, will highlight a new breed of inexpensive Internet PCs for the consumer marketplace. The PIA is a fully-configured Internet computer that will include a browser for Internet access, e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet software already loaded.

Because the full Linux operating system is included, over 50,000 software programs are available free or at very low cost, primarily off the Internet.

"The computer will become a ubiquitous household appliance. With the PIA, we are able to bring the cost down so that the nearly 20,000,000 households not yet connected to the Internet can do so," explained Stephen Herman, president. "By partnering with Internet Service Providers, we are able to provide a package which will essentially make the computer free to the end user."

"Our vision with the PIA is to bring the benefits of the Internet and Linux to the consumer marketplace. Up until now, Linux has not been a mainstream operating system," added Chief Executive Officer and Founder Jeffrey Rassas.

"There have been vast improvements in the graphical user interface and the number of consumer and business software applications available for Linux. We intend to show the world that Linux is a viable alternative to Microsoft Windows."

The PIA is currently scheduled for release to coincide with the Linux World Expo, Aug. 10-12 in San Jose, Calif. and will be distributed nationally through Internet Service Providers, national retailers and online distributors, as well as via the Company's e-commerce web site, www.thelinuxstore.com.
