AgentSoft Ltd., a subsidiary of Accent Software International (Nasdaq: ACNTF), today announced the shipment of LiveAgent™ Pro, version 1.0, an application tool that enables Internet/Intranet users to rapidly automate information extraction activities performed on the web. The automation process is based on AgentSoft's leading intelligent agent technology developed in Java.

These tools include a stand-alone HTTP proxy, implemented in Java, and a set of scripts, applets, and supplementary Java classes. LiveAgent Pro sells for $199 and includes a number of predefined automation routines. To help with complex automation routines, AgentSoft is offering services to clients needing customized agent development for IT solutions. AgentSoft will be demonstrating the product and examples at COMDEX '97 in the Microsoft Pavilion, Booth L-2212-L09 during the week of November 17-21. In addition, demonstrations will be held in the Vista Parlor Suite at the MGM Grand Hotel. LiveAgent Pro will also be available from a number of electronic warehouses.

LiveAgent Pro uses a simple record/replay paradigm for creating automation routines and then allows users to set variables for decisions or branching to be performed. The record/replay environment produces a Java program that can easily be integrated with existing Java Integrated Development Environments, including Java classes and templates. Each of the automation routines is based on an intelligent agent that performs activities just as if a person was working through a browser. Agents are capable of full interaction with HTML pages as they navigate the internet/intranet (typing into forms, clicking on buttons, selecting from list boxes, engaging search engines, etc.). Automation routines can specify which HTML pages, or parts of pages, the agent should bring back to the user, and how data should be integrated, processed, and developed into information for the user.

LiveAgent Pro's highly modular architecture allows for easy extension by Java developers. By simply adding their own classes, developers can customize agents or supplement the HTTP proxy's filtering capabilities to provide other value-added management of Web-browsing activity. LiveAgent Pro Agents can be called from other programming languages.
