Sun Microsystems, Inc. and Navio Communications, Inc. today announced their plans to make Navio Navigator(TM), the Internet standard browser for non-PC and consumer devices based on Netscape Navigator(TM), available on Sun Microsystems' JavaStation(TM) devices. This means that in addition to running the Navigator on personal computers, the Navigator browser will have a home on the JavaStation and network computers for the enterprise. "Today's announcement means that Sun's customers can have the Navio Navigator browser on Java(TM) network computers," commented Dr. Wei Yen, president and chief executive officer, Navio Communications, Inc. "This relationship creates an industry standard in the new category of Network Computers for consumer and business devices." "Many of our enterprise customers use the Navigator browser on their systems today. And we're delighted that the product will be available on the JavaStation as well," said Ed Zander, president of Sun Microsystems Computer Company.
