The high reliability of Win 2000

Yeah, after 5 years of frustration with Microsoft's DOS-based
operating systems, I thought that this week it might be nice to focus on
Microsoft's "high reliability product" - Windows 2000. So I went
to ActiveWin.com to get the latest
news.
The first thing I noticed is that Microsoft is about to
release Service Pack 2 for Windows 2000. So far, they won't tell
you what it fixes (just do whatever Microsoft tells you - don't ask questions).
But I did find the list of fixes for Service Pack 1 (posted below).
I guess we're supposed to assume that if Service Pack 1 doesn't fix your
problems, Service Pack 2 will!
Hmm. After looking at this bug list, it sure seems like it would be easier (and cheaper)
to just run your old Windows software (when you need to) in VMWare or Win4Lin
on a good, solid version of Linux (until you can wean yourself off of Microsoft products completely). But hey, what do I know?
